Apologies for Neglecting This Blog- Have Been Finishing New Book 1787 FAITH

For those of you who follow this blog from time to time, I humbly apologize for not writing entries lately. I have been busy finishing my new book 1787 Faith: The Christian Worldview of the Signers of the Constitution. Be on the lookout for it published in a few months.

Founders' Challenge

Welcome to 1776Faith. There is a lot of good and also harmful information about the Founding Fathers. Some say they were deists or atheists. some say they were Christian. Fourteen years ago after my father died, I took up this challenge and started reading primary documents of these leaders of the United States at its creation. I encourage you to read the writings of George Washington, John Adams, Samuel Adams, John Jay, Patrick Henry, Samuel Chase, Roger Sherman, William Williams,
Thomas McKean, Francis Hopkinson, John Witherspoon, Lyman Hall, Joseph Hewes, William Samuel Johnson, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, etc. First, please note that there were many voices. Check out the big picture. Secondly, spend the majority of your reading in the primary sources. I am suspect of books written after 1962 (many such books carry the poison of "separation of church and state" which they take to mean "keep any vestage of God and especially Jesus Christ and Christianity out of the public square." Make it an aim to master at least one of the Founders. Enjoy the Founders!
